Front drivers side window problems V70-XC70

The front drivers side window on my 98 V70 came off it's track and will not go up properly. It's really hard to get at the mechanism but it seems that a plastic slide in the operating arms is bent or broken. The window goes down OK but goes up crooked and has to be forced into alignment by hand. It then will slip open a bit. Any advise or ideas? This is not a switch problem - it's mechanical.

After you practice on the rear door panel, you will find the front door panel has a couple of extra attachment points. You will need to take it off to find out what the real problem is.
