problems with turn signals, cruise, wipers, volume control S80

It seems that when I go to use my blinkers nothing happens. The same is with the cruise, trying to put on my highbeams, adjusting the radio, channel or volume, intermitent wipers cannot be varied and the washers do not work.
Does anyone have any thoughts. It happened all at once.
The wipers do work other wise and so does the hazzard lights.
Please help!!
It is a s80 t6 1999

    Ditto.
    Try rebooting the steering module.
If that fails you may need to replace it.
If you end up replacing it, please keep the old one, I would like to take a look inside and see if they can be repaired.
Hopefully the one on my S80 and S60 don't go before I figure out a solution.

problems with turn signals, cruise, wipers, volume control S80

Some S80 owners have reported those functions were restored by removing the fuse for the steering wheel module (SWM) for a few minutes, to force a software reset. It's worth a try.

I am having the same problems...all of a sudden my turn signals don't work and my high beams do not come on. My emergency flashers work, so I am convinced it is not the bulbs, or the fuse. Your response was to reboot the steering wheel module, by taking out the SWM fuse, and I would like to try that. I have my S80 manual, and the looking at the fuse section, I do not see a fuse marked Steering Wheel Module. Any help appreciated! Thanks Roger

Found the SWM which was Fuse #22. The inside panel of the fuse module actually referred to Fuse #22 as the Steering Wheel Module. The fuse listings in the owners manual did not refer to #22 as the SWM. I pulled fuse #22 and examined it. It was okay so I put in back in, and the problem was solved. Turn signals, High beams, and messages now working properly.. Thanks to all who contributed to solving this problem. Best Regards, Roger
