wah wah wah wah wah sound from right front... S70

Warped rotor? Bearings?

Increases with spead - and yes, upon breaking, there is a noticeable vibration in the steering.

Good answer, Mark; definitely sounds like 2 problems to me. You might as well get rotors and bearing hubs for both sides because they tend to go in tandem. Hefty impact wrench will help alot with spindle nut and torx bolts that hold bearing hub on; short of that, have 1/2" drive with a cheater bar because you're going to need it. PB Blaster is also nice to have around and you may have to whack spindle (watch the threads) to free splines.

Sounds more like two problems than one. The steering wheel vibration is more than likely warped rotors but the wah wah noise sounds more like a bad wheel bearing. A text book bad wheel bearing will not only make the wah wah noise but it will get louder and quieter as you steer into and out of corners. Drive the car down the road and 30+ mph carefully steer left and right like a drunk coming home from happy hour. As you steer into it it should get louder because the load is increasing on it and it will get quieter as you steer out and take the load off.

    Mark
