Coolant Light S70 1999

The red coolant light keeps coming on, despite having plenty of coolant in the reservoir. It comes on when I drive for over an hour, it lasts for a day or two, then it turns off. The temp gauge is consistently where it should be- dead center. Any thoughts? Oh...I just replaced the timing and serpentine belts and it started happening soon after that.

When you changed the timing belt, you took off the coolant bottle and put it on the engine cover, right? Pull the bottle and check the contacts underneath to make sure no bare wires are close to each other. You may have bent them.

Sounds like it is time for a new level sensor to me.

Checked under and around the bottle, but all appears well. Is the coolant sensor a difficult fix? I've never done one.
