Rear door locks S70 1998

After a couple 850's, I upgraded my wife's '95 850 Turbo to a '98 S70 T5 with only 58,000 miles on the clock. While operation is basically the same, I am having a problem with the rear door locks. The rear door locks do not open automatically using the remote, the key, or the switch on the door panel. Only reaching back and pulling them up will unlock the door. They will lock, but not unlock automatically. Both rear doors are the same which makes me suspect that there might be a "feature" I'm unaware of. The owner's manual does not indicate anything other than the "child protection" feature which prevents the interior door handle from functioning when the the locking lever is in the up position.

Did I miss something or do I have two rear doors with the same problem? Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like you need two new rear dook locks. I had the same problem on my driver side door.

It is a classic REPL problem. Your problem with your lock was discussed on an earlier post by barry01 on Fri Apr 29 22:39 UTC 2005 on this same forum.

With FOB, you have to hit the button twice S70 1998

Could be all the problems discussed, but on my S70, I have to hit the button twice to unlock the rear doors. I thought this was standard procudure for the FOB. Shouldn't have to touch the door switch in the front though more than once to unlock the backs.
