S40 headlight replacement S40-V40 2000

Can anyone tell me how to change the headlight assembly? Does it require removing the bumper?

Tam,
I have the exact same "melting" issue on the connector. You do not need to replace the entire headlamp assy. All I am going to do is get another connector and splice it in line on the two wires. This connector is found on any S/V40 from 95 to 2004
