850 - 18ft/lbs to tighten spark plugs? 850 1995

That's what it says in Haynes - but they definatley seem to have the wrong numbers on rear pads - so I'm just checking with you guys.

You are talking about spark plugs and then you mention the rear pads, so I am confused. I'd go 18 and then a little nudgeon the plugs. I would also use anti-seize on the threads as well...make sure you don't get any on the any other part of the plug. Makes it much easier on the next plug change.

I used anti-sieze on my plugs a few years ago and began to have problems under heavy acceleration with the engine "coughing" then resuming acceleration. Turns out the anti-sieze was allowing some blowby. After cleaning the plugs and threads, I've yet to have the problem again. I may have been a bit over zealous with the stuff, but it may work fine for you.

Finger tight is fine- 14-18 pounds.

DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN- I use a socket and fingers to get around 16 foot pounds.

Aluminum heads require minimum torque - certainly not over 20 foot punds.
