Heater V70-XC70 1999

I have a '99 xc70 and the heater will blow hot air for a few minutes and then blow cool air for a few and then switch back to hat air. The engine temp is normal, the tempature control is on high, the fresh air vent is off. Any ideas ?

    Have you checked the coolant level (in the reservoir or overflow bottle)? If it's low, you can experience intermittant heat and loss of heat.

    Does the car have automatic climate control (bad or dirty sensors, codes set, etc)? If not or the ACC checks out ok, you might have an air pocket or obstruction in the coolant lines to/from the heater - has the cooling system been maintained and occasionally flushed? Are you losing any coolant (even a little bit)?
