'98 S-70 GLT tire advise

Buying a '98 S-70 GLT. Looking for advise on new tires. Have used Toyo Proxes on my '97 850 T5 but was wondering what others have had good luck with.
I live in North Carolina and while it's not New England, we do get some snow and ice and I need to get to work in the worst weather.
Thanks !

I have been happy with BFGoodrich Traction T/A H rated and will be likely to buy them again. Also (unlike some other posters) fairly satisfied with Michelin Energy MXV4 plus (H rated), despite being expensive. I got some Toyo Proxes TPT (also H rated) and am very dissatisfied regarding their mushy handling in turns. On another car I used the Yokohama tire mentioned and it handled well.

I have the Bridgestone Turanza LSH on one S70 and Goodyear Assurance Triple Treads on another S70. I thought the Bridgestone's were decent...until I got the goodyears...they are awesome in wet, and snow. Plus they are quiet...best tires I have ever owned.

    I live in upstate NY.

There you go! Hadn't tried the Assurance.

I've recently put Yokohama Avid H4S tires on one of our cars and I am very pleased with the tire. We don't get snow here though, so I can not comment on their snow worthiness.

I'd stay way from Michelin's. Check out the Bridgestone Turanza LSH on www.tirerack.com Has great ratings even in some snow. We had these on our 850 before we sold it and absolutely loved them.
