I have an alternator light that stays on ~45 secs on real cold mornings then goes out. Is this most likely the voltage regulator failing? Batt voltage is good. Thoughts apprecited as always!

When you say the battery voltage is good do you mean you get about 12.5 to 12.6 volts with the ignition off? What happens when the car is running (with alt light on and with it off)?

I got your symptom once on a car with dirty/worn alternator brushes. Also had it on a different car after putting in a non-original equipment replacement regulator. I would follow the suggestion of Klaus first.

Thanks! I'll check it out. Of course it didn't do it this am when it was 17 deg.

How many miles on the belt? It could be slipping. Best thing to do is open the hood and have a quick look when it is real cold.
If you change the belt, consider changing the tensioner at the same time.
