ok...
any reason why my 850's engine would be going through a lot of oil? i have to put in almost a quart every couple of weeks and my stepdad said when he was following me i was giving out puffs of smoke every once in a while and sometimes could smell oil burning.

If your model has a PCV valve, replace it. I have seen cars stop using oil after replacing a bad PCV valve. (I have also seen cars continue using oil after replacing a PCV valve that was not bad. So, no promises.)

Try removing the flame trap device. Clean it thoroughly and make sure the vacuum hose connection is open. You may need to drill it out to clear any carbon deposits. See Volvospeed "Bay 13" web site for info. Clean the throttle body also.
