v70 magnetic fields V70-XC70

I have done electrical engineering consulting work measuring 60-Hertz magnetic fields in houses. I then advised the homeowners how to minimize their fields (usually was changing a ground connection to a particular water pipe). Another significant home AC magnetic field source is a transformer (clock motor, kilowatt-hour meter etc.), but the field falls off very fast with distance from the source. It becomes well below the "safe" threshhold within a few feet usually. Now i have a V70 and would like to find if a volvo kit is available to minimize the AC magnetic fields from the single battery cable. The V70 situation is similar to the house problem in that the return line water pipe is now the car chassis. The dissimilarity is that the frequency of the V70 magnetic fields is not 60 Hertz (it is a complicated waveform due to the charging current coming from the regulated but unfiltered alternator). One doesn't know if any of those frequencies has a resonant effect on particular biological molecules. I am NOT claiming that either of the two cases above have deadly magnetic fields. I just want to minimize the fields in the car cabin. Again, i am not claiming anyone should be worried about the fields...i just want my V70 to be like other cars in its interior magnetic fields.

    v70 magnetic fields V70-XC70

There is a kit available from Volvo to reduce EMF emissions for this model. It puts a return ground line in to cancel out the field. If you are carrying a CRT monitor in the rear of the car, it can become seriously magnetized and the purity and beam landing will be affected. Best to phone your dealer.

You're kidding, really? Probably would need more details to locate it.... V70-XC70

Volvo offers a kit to reduce EMF in their car? No kidding?

Can you give me a part no., or the official part name? I'd like to check with my dealer's parts counter, but I'm afraid I'll only get a blank stare (or worse? :-) from the parts counter guy if I ask him for an "EMF protection" kit without providing furher details.

      Thanks.

I read someplace that across the pond all 2001 V70 drivers were offered the kit for free. Never was able to verify this or determine what the part number was.
