I've recently read the horror stories of the ETM problems with the 99-01 model years that can cost an arm and a leg to replace. I'm getting ready to buy a 2006 XC90 and maybe a 2005 XC70 (the 90 for my wife and the 70 for me). My question being, does this problem continue with the newer models or has it been resolved? I would have second thoughts if it did continue to be a problem.

2001 was the last year for the old Marelli ETM. Starting with 2002 they are Bosch and much, much better.
