V70 center console removal - hints needed

I need to pull the center console on our '98 V70 to replace the parking brake cables. I know how to access the attaching screws under the armrest, but I don't see anything about what attaches the front of console on the 70's. It doesn't appear to be the same as in the 850 where there is access to front screws under the OBD plug, and then access to teh wiring plugs for lighter, etc. By the way there is a nice write up on changing the cables on matthewsvolvosite.com
Thanks to all,

V70 center console removal - hints needed

I used bay13 for removing my 850 console, and the directions were sweeeet! MIJ gave you a link to the S/V70 console, and it looks excellent also. It appears than in fact there are no screws up front for your car, where our 850's have four (if I remember correctly).

Without a diagram it's hard to explain. There are 4 torx 20 screws that hold the lower section on. and 2 Torx 20 screws for the lock (take the back out where the brake cable is). Take the obvious stuff loose from the top and then the tray inside the arm rest. There are then 5 connectors to take loose within the entire console. Carefully pull the white connectors apart. Lift up on the center console and then back...it should dislodge. I know the following are instructions for changing the gear shift bulb, but it might help you get started:

    Good luck!
