How will I know if water pump fails?, My check engine light came on again the first time the CE light came on I had the soleniods replaced,which saved me a ton of gas, now the light came on again could that be the water pump?

Unless your car has over 150K miles on it, I would not suspect a water pump failure. Is there a Autozone or Pepboys in your neck of New England? They will read the codes for free. Without the codes, we cannot tell you what is wrong. With the codes, you will know what is wrong and why the CEL is on.
True, water pump failures do not turn on the CEL. O2 sensors do.

Water pump won't cause a check engine light. That light indicates something wrong in the emissions system.

If your water pump dies, the engine will suddenly get very hot.
