Need 'reliability/satisfaction' consensus on S60 S60

Hi. I've been a Volvo owner since the early 1970's, but the latest model I have had is the 240 -- I have two '93's and a '84 right now. But while my daughter also likes Volvo's (it's rubbed off on her, happily), a 240 is rather archaic for her (and given her age, I can't blame her).
Anyway, she's finishing law school and has already been hired by a very well-paying firm, so she wants to start by buying a nice car (meaning, to her, a car with modern equipment). Since she'll be working far from me (too far for me to help her if she needs a repair), I'm thinking that she's best off buying a new car which a dealer will be responsible for fixing (i.e., warranty).

I've driven S40's quite a few times (as a dealer 'loaner', when they're working on my cars), and I'm not crazy about it -- too small, and poor rear visibility. But a couple of times they gave me a S60 as a loaner instead, and that was better. So I'm thinking of suggesting that to my daughter.

But before I do, I'd like to know what you folks who have owned an S60 think of it after you've owned it for a while. How's the reliability been; how's your satisfaction with it (how it drives, etc.)?

All your responses are appreciated. Thanks to all of you, in advance.

A lawyer? Great! Buy her a Miata as a graduating present.

PS. My 164 is a budget car and I can not afford to get new sway bars. Thanks, anyway.

Consumer Reports S60

Gives the S60 "average" grades for both owner satisfaction and reliability.

I've had 'em as service loaners too, and I was unimpressed by 1.)the rear headroom 2.) the rear visibility 3.) the lack of cubbyholes to stash junk like change for parking meters, tolls, etc. etc. I'm willing to put up with the reliability crap and ergonomic annoyances for the driving pleasure of my V70T5, and I may be willing to do so for a V70R, but the S60 just doesn't make my cutoff.

You'll probably get more opinions if you post your question over at Swedespeed.
