850 Aircondition makes bad noise 850 1994

I charged my ac with R134 the other day, but after that sometimes now the system , (seems to come from the compressor), makes a bad "grinding" noise when I turn AC on, if I then turn Off and then wait a while it starts normal with no bad noise and then it runs normal. Could I have overcharged the AC system?

    It could be overcharged and the compressor clutch could be slipping. It's a metal on metal friction surface and could sound like "grinding". Maybe let some coolant out and see what happens. You don't want any liquid going into the compressor which may happen if it's overcharged. Should be just vapor.
