94 850 fuel pump circuit 850 1994

Hello everyone, I need help with my Volvo 850. It had an intermittent starting problem for a long time, which only happened when hot. I figured out that it was not getting power to the fuel pump during this condition. I thought it was probably the fuel computer so i replaced it with a junk yard one (found one for $40.00) This has not solved the problem. Does any one know which relay runs the fuel pump, and what else is involved in the circuit. I am currently running a wire from my cigarette lighter to the pump which works fine but is annoying.
Thanks for any assistance and or pointers.

Hi,
I had shortly sudden starting problem with my 850 -94 220kkm on it, the engine ran for a few ten seconds and stalled repeatedly. This was due to fuel pump relay mal function in longer time hold.
When switching ignition on-the fuel pump gets a series of power pulses to make the pressure, but when starting the old contacs loose connection and pump doesn't run no more. relay renewal for 50$ and 15 minutes and everything OK since.

Fuse #2 is the fuel pump and alarm fuse (15 amp). If it's getting hotter than all the other fuses in the box the fuel pump itself is shot and should be replaced. The fuel pump relay is in the fuse box under the hood. Its the square relay along the top row, second from left (should be the only square one in that top row). I would seriously look at the fuel pump itself and check the terminals for corrosion that might be killing the current flow.

Thanks for your reply, I actually forgot to say that I also replaced the pump. I will check the fuse and relay, appreciate your help.
