Although for a 70 series, this may help you some:

More specifically for your model, this is what you do (somewhat different than above):
1. Detach the negative battery cable (make sure you have the radio
code...you'll need this later to activate your radio).
2. Remove the 2 screws at the front (along the edge of the cigarette lighter)
and lift out the cigarette lighter panel.
3. Disconnect the wiring at the lighter and lift out the panel. For imporved
access, remove the screws securing the ashtray compartment and withdraw the
compartment. Pull out the ashtray light bulb holder to remove this
compartment.
4. Remove the 2 screws securing the console at the front...along a crossbar
under several coupled strands of wires running under the lighter area.
5. Apply the parking brake fully then carefully pry up the cover panel below
the parking brake (do it from the parking brake side, not from the front).
6. Open the rear storage compartment lid and pry up the cover panel in the
compartment base. Remove the 2 screws now exposed.
7. Disconnect the switch and illunination wire connectors at the front of the
console. You should be able to see the light that is burned out by now and
how the bulb comes out and goes back in. Follow the 70 Series instructions
from here to change it out.
8. Installation of everything is in reverse order of instructions here.
Found this also on Bay 13...it's the shift microswitch repair, but it shows the process of taking the 850 console out, with pictures, which might help:
