Oh - do heater hoses have quick disconnect fittings? (picture) 850 1995

yep - the new heater hose I purchased (to have on hand) only attaches at one end with the old familiar hose clamp. At the firewall end it has what looks like might be a quick disconnect. That would be a great convenience - with some cars you have to get to the heater core to change these hoses.

So how do I change this heater hose?

Quick disconnects are at the firewall. You would not have to remove the heater core unless the bulkhead connector at the firewall is damaged (unlikely). There are 2 tabs to squeeze fairly tight with a channel-lock pliers or similar. Some wiggling and a strong steady pull will then separate the hose from the firewall connector. You will lose coolant unless you have drained the engine block as well as radiator. Keep track of the order of the sealing rings and spacers unless your new hoses came with a sketch or instructions.
