wet driver mat S70 1998

After pulling mat back I noticed small wet spot on underside of mat.The leak looks like one or both hoses is leaking from where they connect to the plastic unit-which probably houses the heater core? The defrost and heater work fine but I am losing a small amt of fluid. My chilton manual has no diagram /info on this and I'm wondering if someone has had the hose end fail like this-ALSO the car has 108k on it.How hard is the heater core to replace? Can just the bottom half of the Housing I'm looking at be pulled out-is there enough clearance to do that?Any info or advice would be appreciated.I have to go back to school next weekend.thanks mike

Took me about 2.5 hrs, and the core cost is approx. $140 US.

I've had both the heater core fail and the "O" rings fail again about a year later.

One kind person over at Volvospeed.com posted pictures of the procedure on a 70 series. The thread is entitled "Pics of Heater Core Install". Sorry but you can't directly link the threads like you can with Brickboard.

Depending on your skill level I believe it's suppposed to be at least a couple of hours to replace the core. The core comes out from the driver's side and is not nearly as bad as the evaporator. Good luck! Look at the pictures over there!
