Are there any combination code reader/service light resetter tools out there that I could buy, or would I have to buy them separate?

for '98 and I think '99 models you must use a reset tool. IPD sells them.

It's '96-'98 850's and 70 series Volvos. You need a reset tool or the dealer. Look up DRAPER or "Volvo Reset" on eBay. I bought mine from a guy in England for about $75 including shipping.

Another cheap way. WHen you pull the cluster to replace bulbs, remove that one. Alex Peper's software will also reset that light

Don't know if this works on the 98 mines a 97 V70 but this costs nothing. Simply hold in the trip counter reset button, turn on the ignition with it still held in, wait and after 10 secs or so the service light will start flashing. When this happens turn off the ignition and nect tim you start up the light should have gone off.
