Door brake loosening V70-XC70 1998

Anyone else have problems with the star-bolt on the door brake hinge loosening up? I get a loud pop as the driver's door is just about all the way open. I pulled back the rubber protecting the doorbrake and have tightened the star-bolt several times. Only to have it works its way loose in a couple days.

Any suggestions? I get nervous when I hear loud popping noises when I open the door.

Chuck

    Door brake loosening V70-XC70 1998

Had (or rather HAVE)the same problem on my '96 850. It was the torx screw that kept coming loose, and eventually stripped the thread completely. Went to my local dealer, and they put in a new brake, and bolted it to the bady. This has lasted almost a month and has come loose again!! Going back to the dealer Friday! Only cost $95 for them to botch it up the first time!!

The door stop could have a broken spring or the attaching point to the body can be cracked.
    Both are common problems.
I was not able to find my pictures of those two repairs.

Which side of the weld cracks--body or door? V70-XC70 1998

I don't think the weld is loose. Would the torx screw hold for a couple days when tightened if the weld is loose? Where does the weld typically crack--on the door side or the body side?
