The flex piece on the exhaust manifold for my 1995 850 broke. It seemed there was no viable repair as you cannot buy a piece to replace the flex. I have found a 2 1/2 X 4 inch flex that works perfectly. Any good exhaust shop or repair tech should be able to remove the manifold, carefully cut out the old flex and weld in the new one. The company is in Canada, it's name is Hermoff, and they do have a web site (however the size required is not listed on the web site chart) I called them and they sent it to me via courier, total with shipping........$25.00 CDN. The part number is 25004. It is stainless and can easily be MIG or TIG welded to the existing steel manifold/header. The part can be ordered with nipples on the ends, in this case you need to order the one WITHOUT the pipe nipples.
You also have to make sure the flange is welded back on correctly, it can oly go back on one way! The bolt pattern is narrower at one end than the other!!!!

My exhaust manifold broke the other day. It broke where the flex welds to the forward portion of the manifold. I bought two 2 3/4" exhaust clamps, threw away the 'U'-bolts from the clamps and bought two 4 1/2" bolts to clamp the two exhaust clamp stamping together. The fingers of the stampings slipped right around the flange on the foward portion of the exhaust manifold and the "valleys" of the flange. When I tightened-up this arrangement, it actually tikghtened up the flex pipe to the flange. This fix only works for my particular kind of break, but the total cose for repair was about $3.
