I would pass on `03`s as we have a XC70 with tranny issue, ie, hard shifting, etc which began around 200K. The car is not driveable which is unfortunate as the engine is running strong. We also have an `04 XC70 with 190K & no tranny problems "so far". The `04 was purchased from a friend @ $3K & required some front end repairs which were, of course, disclosed before purchase. It runs "like a top"!
