new to me, what to check V70-XC70 1998


Yes, at 69k it shouldn't need much. Believe the timing belt is due at 70k but it may be 105k. There should be a sticker under the hood indicating when it was changed if it has been done. Not sure which year the change was made to 105k intervals. I believe it was 1999. Check your owners manual. Or someone here might pipe in.

Besides the normal brakes and tires, I would check the condition of all the rubber. After all the car is 16 years old! Check belts and hoses specifically.

Mods: Buy the best tires you can afford. You could upgrade the front struts, rear shocks and maybe add a front brace or wider sway bars if you like sporty driving. There isn't alot you can to a NA engine. If it is a turbo then power shouldn't be an issue...:)
