850R ride

I recently made the jump to FWD with a 96 850R wagon. 62K miles in very nice condition. The ride is firm, even harsh on some roads. The PO put bilstein hd's on the car and 16" wheels with Dunlop D60 tires, 205/55. How much can I smooth the ride out with tires? Or is it the Bilsteins? Also, will this car benefit from IPD sway bars? I have them on my RWD cars and I am very happy. The R corners pretty flat as is.

I think you will find the Bilsteins are the issue. I put a set on my 96 854T5 and they are kinda of hard. Much of the flat cornering is due to the Bilsteins. I love mine. IPDs catalogue lists some softer alternatives.

I also did the sway bars before the shocks, they are well worth it. But, I have a T5, not an R. For all I know, the R has upgraded sway bars already.
