Alternator swap 900 1992

Dear rstarkie,

Hope you're well. I doubt a turbo adds to the electrical load.

To put a 70-Amp unit in place of a 100-Amp unit might be a stretch, if there's an upgraded sound system, added lights (e.g., fog lights, front and/or back), or auxiliary devices (e.g., chargers of various sorts).

Volvo may have supplied 100-Amp units out of an abundance of caution. The Nippon-Denso units seem to work reliably for at least 200K miles.

Hope this helps.

Yours faithfully,

Spook
