Very interesting. The car was only built with one distributor, either on the back of the head (cam driven) OR on the left side of the engine (I-shaft driven). Looks like a previous owner must have either swapped a different head onto the original engine block or they replaced the engine block and retained the original head.

If it's a Rex ignition then I would "guess" it had the cam driven distributor from birth and someone installed a different engine block.

Are you compelled to switch over to the I-shaft driven distributor? If so, why?
