Hair raising incident 140-160

I've had that happen too and it is quite startling.

I doubt the issue is with the relay.
I suspect the problem is that the wires AT the relay have corroded.

Take the wires off (one at a time so they don't get mixed up), clean then re-crimp or solder (I like solder) the connectors back on or better yet, use new connectors.

Clean the contacts on the relay too.
And disconnect the battery before doing all this!
