need final answer from sage who knows- is 92 b230 a flat tappet engine 200

hi scorron- appreciate your advice. you may be right. have heard bad things about fram, off name filters , wix and others but never about purolator. have used that brand without issue since 65 on my cars, mostly chrysler slantsixes and 318s. sawed one of them apart a few years ago at 4k .saw a lot of debris captured in the filter. do you know anything specific about purolator performance? been checking the oil weekly and it is clean(about 2k now). with the mann in my first oil change in the volvo, the oil was clean right up to the 4k change. if the purolator shows increased debris or dark color in the oil occuring sooner , the next oil change will have a mann filter. read that both filters have about a 93% filtration rate. purolators i think were the original american car filters, going back to the 1920s when oil filters were introduced . as you know oil filters were not on the original cars. would be very interested in any details you know of. as we used to say in night court -to wit proffers(offers of proof). thanks tons oldduke
