V70 2005 N/A, crank but no start V70-XC70

Hi again Dennis,

You've narrowed it down some by finding no fuel pressure at the rail.

Some people listen for the pump when the key is put into RUN position,
if you don't hear anything you might first suspect the PEM and see if you can
get at the fuel pump connector to verify power. Here's the fuel pump diagram from the V70 wiring diagram that you should get. Brickboard timed out before
I could include this with the original email.

The Fuel pump circuitry is complex and not as straight-forward as you think
The Fuel pump is driven by Pulsed DC in order to achieve longer live for the pump
and higher fuel efficiency. I have yet to see a Volvo Circuit theory discussion in print. My sense is that the PEM is the culprit, but the pump
is always a possibility. Maybe someone knows a good way to tell without substitution?

Bill
