It is also a non-profit hospital, and their doctors are on salacy. It is also one of finest clinics in the world.

[OPINIONS] Girlie Shoes - WARNING! A-political non-confrontational subject material. -posted by- c. a.

I have big feet for a woman, so I can wear men's 8 1/2 shoes. It gives me many more options.

Also; I don't wear shoes when I am working; and then only sandal's on break.

Now that once again I am Type 2 diabetic due to a steroid increase, people are always giving my sh*t about running around barefoot. I happen to believe that I am less prone to stumbling due to my neurophy when I am barefoot. That way I can know where my foot is. I am much more fearful about falling, with my drop foot than I am about fogtgens (sp) objects.

You are full of the stuff I pick up when I when I walk my dog.

There is a saying that a Army travels on their stomachs. Where do think the food comes from? Who built the planes, the aircraft carriers, the bombs, the uniforms ect? You should grateful for the fine work American civilians do on your behalf, the failure rate is minuscule. Only we don't get the shiny badges the military gets.

Why don't you stick to issues that occurred less that quartin century ago. There is plenty stuff we can castigate him for in the 21st century.

[OPINIONS] Me and Ted -posted by- c. a.

Will it appears Ted Kennedy has the same type of brain tumor that I do, and in the same part of the brain. (the left parital)(sp)

We both have inoperable tumors based on the location, (deep brain) and the eloquent part is above the tumor. You can't mess with that; it controls speech, and everything else that makes you, you.

It was interesting to hear about what the docs have in store for him. I am on already on avastin, but that doesn't seem to be working for me.

It is hell to be verbal and lose that skill. Ted should expect to have right side corrupted. I can't feel my right hand now; and a result, I have burned, cut it, and lost my keys when I hold them then in my right hand. I have taught Fanny, my 7 old Golden Retriever to be Service Dog. Both my dogs will pick up items that I drop.

I don't know how long I can hang on; but I will do my best.

[OPINIONS] Word on the street says Jesse Ventura is perhaps gonna to run for Senate -posted by- c. a.

I would gladly vote for him again.

When he was running for Governor he was on this debate on TV. He sat in the middle, and the Republican candidate was on his right, and the Dem was on his left. Both of them talked to each to other, leaning across Jesse's space, and not engaging him. I think this was visual hubris.

Jesse won the Governor's race that year. I would like to see him stir things up in Congress.

[OPINIONS] pets -posted by- c. a.

Having pets is close to having kids (or family) for many of us. I know that for me, my four-legged "family" is the reason I am still alive. They give me love and support no matter how I am feeling. I don't have to put a brave face with them.
Fanny, my 6 year old Golden, I have trained as a Service Dog for me, and Emma, my 13 year old, will cross the rainbow bridge soon. She has a tumor on her that is huge; despite she has a merry disposition and plays ball and enjoys life. When she doesn't enjoy life I can give her a mercical end on my living room floor. I wish I could do the same; but I legally have to go though in all.

[OPINIONS] Relocation HELL, finding temporary housing (the left wing rental conspirancy) -posted by- c. a.

I tend to side with Jorrel with this issue, with a caveat. Obviously he has well-behaved dogs, as evinced by his getting CGC and the Therapy Dog Certifect.

I live alone, and still do, despite the fact I am terminally ill. I have no brothers, sister, no spouse, or any aunts/uncles. My dogs and cat are my support system. All my dogs have advanced degrees in obedience. Fanny, my younger Golden, I have trained as a Service Dog, and not a moment to soon. Fanny goes with me everywhere, resturnant, grocery stores, the Mayo Clinc, everywhere.

You and I know our dogs are better trained than most dogs. (owners too) We pick up our dog's poop, when going for walks.

My suggestion for property manager would be to sure one is a lease that dog receive CGC receive at the least.

[OPINIONS] How the other half lives -posted by- c. a.

Yes I am Medicare, but at this time my chemo isn't covered by Medicare. It costs about $9,000 per month, and thus far I absorbering all of it.

Property taxes are due 5/15, with $1,575 due and another $1,575 due in October. I don't have cable or anything like that; don't need and can't afford it. I get my wireless signal from the church from next door.

My only spurge is food.

SSI pays $850 after Medicare.

[OPINIONS] How the other half lives -posted by- c. a.

I am already on Medicare and Medicaid. As for selling my house, that is so mean sprited I won't even go there.

If I have to die before my time, I am to going to die in MY house, with my art, animals, birds outside my window, good food and wine and friends. Yes good food!

Maybe you can tolerate canned cling peaches from the food shelf, but I can't. I may as well get tank helium out of closet, tie that plastic bag around my head and be done with it.

I have worked at the U of M for 34 years with no benefits. That is criminal; if you ask me. "Leave To Beaver" doesn't exist anymore. Corporations only value the bottom line. Ward Cleaver's job has for been outsouced for years to India.

Medical Report: The right side is getting numb; especerally my face. I can't chop vegies anymore with my 10" chef's knife.

[OPINIONS] How the other half lives -posted by- c. a.

I suggest you really, REALLY give the Frontline a looksee.

Since my (Viriostat) failed, I have been on Avastin, a chemo that is not approved by the FDA for brain tumors but many oncology's are using it. It costs $1800 for months infusion. I have to go to the Mayo ever other week for that.

Since I am on total disability I am expected to live on $850 a month. That's food, house payments, utilities, car repair, vet bills, property taxes ect. My 89 740 car got sideswiped and I have no turn no signals on the driver's front end and headlamp one is out of alignment. Both 740 and the 122 have exhaust
leaks because I couldn't afford to fix them in a timely manner. I just have to drive 'em with the windows rolled down.

I have no pants that are not frayed around the hems. I plan to get one pair at the second hand store. I am speaking to a church on Sunday to thank them for the work they did on my house.

I am trusting to luck that Medicare or the company that makes Avastin gives it me to on a hardship basis. I dunno; at this point, I am responsible for all of it. Nobody has notified me otherwise.

It has taken a long time to type this out. I shouldn't have to deal with this when I am terminally ill.

I fail to see why the President, Congress, and the Military Officers have life-long health insurance when I have suffer such hardship.

[OPINIONS] Caring Bridge -posted by- c. a.

I am glad to know that someone is holding the likes of Tim's feet in to the fire. I am still here fighting the lies some people to delude themselves with. I know it would be much easier if I went away. I can no longer carry the banner myself; but I AM here as witness. Anyone that posts here knows a person who has gone through the grist mill of our health care system, including corporate, and academic. People are thrown from the corporate health system where they belong, in order to increase the botton line of the shareholders.
