<description>I gots me the same problem with my wife&#x27;s car right now, 1998 V70.....gotta jiggle the wheel a bit and the ignition module (and be patient!)

So what about &#x22;lubing&#x22; it as you spoke of- where, how, what kind of lubricant????

Did you update the unit, or was that not necessary???

Any reply will be greatly appreciated!!!

<title>[AWD] [V70] [1998] splash shield concerns -posted by- Sully</title>
<description>1998 V70 GLT

How direly necessary is the lower spalsh shield???
Wifey hit another parking lot curb and it ripped off mounting tab on one side....I see it may channel some air up on the drivers side, or does it????

Looks fine without it, although it is my intentions to &#x22;tool&#x22; it and re-install whence time permits

Thanks a &#x27;lot&#x27;.......Mike

Assuming I have no leaks present- as it quit sometime last summer, what is the best over-the-counter refill kit sold, if atb all available, by retailers that I can relatively easily do myself and save some $$$
Any other info I need for success and or helpful tid-bits??

<title>[AWD] [V70] AC port (low &#x26; high) locations??? -posted by- Sully</title>
<description>1998 V70 GLT
In trying to evacuate and re-charge the AC system, a local mechanic could only locate the &#x22;low&#x22; port, just behind the passenger headlamps and left of the windshield washer reservoir, we looked and looked for the &#x22;high&#x22; port but to no avail.....
Anyone now where that unit is located??? Its hot, wifey needs her AC!!

<title>[RWD] [S90-V90] E- brake shoes (??) adjustment(s) -posted by- Sully</title>
<description>My 1997 964 failed its MA state inspection due to the lacking emergency brake...
Two years ago it was pointed out to me to be addressed, so I did the adjustments behind/in the console, which seems maxxed out.
What is the e-brake &#x22;tie in&#x22; to the rear wheel assembly, as that seems to be the issue now?! Are there &#x22;shoes&#x22; of sorts??

Saw the April 14 thread- but no help to me, right now anyhow!

Any help greatly appreciated!!!!

<title>[AWD] [V70] [1998] Wheels spining engage the &#x26;quot;Check Engine&#x27; light?? -posted by- Sully</title>
<description>Just got the wifey&#x27;s 1998 V70 GLT all squared away and again (gosh darnit!!)
the CE light back on- this time due to, I firmly 99.99% beleive, the wheels spining in the New England snow &#x26; ice, as she did unfortunately......

Does such wheel spin cause the CE light to go on, as it did once on a 1995 855 Turbo we employed years ago?? And will disconnecting the battery for some time
re-set the CE light- so as to avoid seeing the mechanic again....

Thanks-

<title>[AWD] Almost bought a 1994 854T -posted by- Sully</title>
<description>Alright Klaus, some more counsel sought here...

Would such a clogged vacuum elbow
cause a &#x22;Waste gate Cellinoid&#x22; (spelling?)code; a &#x22;lean&#x22; code for the Mass Airlflow sensor; and or a need to update/replace a throttle body.....

This &#x22;info&#x22; came from a mechanic in the neighborhood who plugged it into his shop&#x27;s diagnosis computer.....he doesn&#x27;t do much with late Volvos and ythe parts were very $$$$ and we won&#x27;t have the car much longer...

Many thanks, again-

<title>[AWD] [V70] [1998] Hey KLAUSC ??!!?? Dec 21-23 folow up concern(s) -posted by- Sully</title>
<description>Hi KLAUSC.....thank you for repsonding!!!!
Wife&#x27;s 1998 V70 GLT...164K.

The only vacuum hose I could access (as a driveway novice!) come from down and beind the engine somewheres and linked into just below and left of the exhaust manifold....but upon pulling the cracked elbow off and blocking block inlet hole with my finger car did run poorly!!?? Is this a vacuum line that you had in mind, among others, and could you be more specific to any others that might contribute to the problems?
What is this vacuum line called and what does it do and why and how, etc???
Can I replace that with any similar thickness hose from ADAP/NAPA
or is that a dealer only OEM elbow??
After the initial crisis I driven it a few times, problem(s)seem(s) to occur
when well warmed up and coming inot stop &#x26; go traffic- hhhmmm???

Thanks so much- Mike

<title>[AWD] [V70] [1998] Stalling/ power loss/ black smoke/ catalytic smell -posted by- Sully</title>
<description>OK, now that I have your attention- and thank you very much...my wife&#x27;s car has some &#x22;major&#x22; issues!!!
1998 V70 GLT, 164K, hers since 99K, no abuse to speak of....

I endured some 45 minutes of stop and go (SlOW!) trafic due to the snow here in New England and shopping madness- so I had some tire spining....
When we got to plaza the car was weak, minimal power, she then stalled out, but I got her up and running and found parking spot- with more stalling, but we got her in.....thought I would have to push it, so wifey backed it in-and I am pretty certain that I saw some black smoke from the exhaust, and then there was that nasty &#x22;rotten eggs&#x22; smell- hhhmmm??!!??
Well we shopped quite a bit and she cooled off, we had no phone-a-friends avail on Saturday nite, so we prayed for miracle and drove it home- no problem!!!
Just out of curiousity I drove it Sunday morning, yep, a power loss followed by stalling.....
It has a new cap/rotor/wires just 3 weeks ago, and no codes were present...

I know, I know- it can be an array of things, but maybe someone has experienced these symptoms??!!??
Might this be turbo/exhaust/ catalytic issue- is there correlation??

Many thanks- Mike!</description>

<title>[RWD] [S90-V90] [1997] Ignition coil replacement -posted by- Sully</title>
<description>&#x22;Condition Black!&#x22; my 1997 960 with 163,000.
I am pretty certain that yet another ignition coil has gone- as she be running lousy over 30 mph...I already had one replaced at 154K, back in April,
and I gather that all the coils will go at one time or another, hopefully later....

So what does replacement of each coil entail, can I do it with my basic tools and some patience??? And the plugs too??

Might someone (unbiased of course) kindly elaborate on the cons/pros of buying this model, and or set me straight on why they should buy it other than it isa VOLVO, its cool looks, and AWD...

<description>1997 960 sedan 148K...time for me to get my annual MAssachusetts inpection sticker...I got hammered on emissions and CE light last year, so it will be safety only this year- I think...maybe!

Having spent so much they simply noted the &#x22;weak&#x22; parking brake and urged me
to have it fixed- heck, it an automatic guys??!!
I think DEWFPO offered me counsel, but I didn&#x27;t act on it...

So are they adjustable? Or how do I determine if it is actually broken?
There is minimal resistance, and the light does go on and off with movement...
Help!!!!!!!
