[AWD] [V70] Transmission Problems on V70 -posted by- emajewicz

Thanks for the information. I previously owned a 1998 S70 GLT. The transmission went at 220,000 miles which I don't consider too bad. However, I read that the V70s trannys fail before 100k. Is the V70 without the turbo or AWD any better? I suspect both put a strain on the drive train.

[AWD] [V70] Transmission Problems on V70 -posted by- emajewicz

I am looking at purchasing a 2001 V70 with 56k miles. However, from what I have read, they have major transmission problems. Did Volvo ever fix this problem?

[AWD] [S70] [1998] Warning Lights on S70 -posted by- emajewicz

I was able to get the car moving, but the check engine light is still on and the arrow still flashes. I checked the transmission fluid level and it is okay. I also moved the shift lever as you suggested. However, the lights are still on. I don't want to drive the car as I feel it may happen again. Any ideas?

[AWD] [S70] [1998] Warning Lights on S70 -posted by- emajewicz

The check engine and " arrow" warning lights came on my 1998 S70. The engine continues to run, but the car will not move. The manual says it is related to the automatic transmission. Any ideas what this could be?
