[RWD] [900] [1992] Replacing Front Wheel Hubs -posted by- dkollbaum

I’m seeking advice to replace the front wheel hubs on a 92 940 Sedan. It appears the greatest difficulty is removing the hub nut and getting the proper torque when reinstalling. I would appreciate comments from anyone having completed this task. Thanks!

[RWD] [900] so far so bad. . . -posted by- dkollbaum

My 92 940 had the same problem when the regina fuel pump weakened. I could not keep it running long enough to drive in the garage. I realized the fuel tank was under 1/4 level, I added more fuel and it keep running. Still had no power but I was able to drive in my garage and install the new regina pump. I got mine in but lying in the trunk working in a restricted space was a test on my back. Hopes this helps!

[RWD] [900] [1992] 940 front wheel bearings -posted by- dkollbaum

Can anyone tell me service information for front wheel bearings on a 940 with ABS. Manual tells me to check for noise or movement but nothing about when Volvo recommends service. Mileage on my 92 is nearing 124,000. What cost can I expect to replace both hubs? Thanks!

[RWD] [200] Fuel system problem with 84, 240 -posted by- dkollbaum

Fuse is good. Thanks! I have continuity from the starter to the connector at the ECU and from the ECU connector to the main relay terminal but no power to the main relay when engaging the starter. Does anyone know a source to check the ECU?

[RWD] [200] Fuel system problem with 84, 240 -posted by- dkollbaum

I purchased an 84, 240 for front grill, headlights & other parts after hitting a deer with my 81, 240. The 84 is not running but the previous owner said it ran a few months ago. I decided to try my skills to get it up and running. It has spark but no fuel. I supplied fuel with an oilcan into the intake and it came to life. Both the main and fuel pump relays checked OK. Further checks revealed the main relay is not getting voltage when the starter is engaged. Can anyone direct me to the next step? The ECU is a Jetronic, Bosch 0 280 000 510. Thanks!
