<title>[RWD] [200] Found a 240 GL -posted by- CliveAlive</title>
<description>Looking closely at the photos the upper gauge mount it looks like its just housing a clock and upper mounted CD player.

Though it&#x27;s sporting Virgo&#x27;s, the bumper, waistline, front and rear window and upper and lower side window trim would all be blacked out if it was the Turbo; chrome on the GL and DLs. The GL had leather seats. I say it&#x27;s a GL with Virgo&#x27;s. Looks in rather nice cosmetic shape from the pics. Still, look under the hood and you&#x27;ll know whether it&#x27;s a turbo or not!

It is a stick shift though and as far as I know most GLs were auto. I had a silver 83 245 GL like that which had an M46. I always thought it was a bit rare.

Also look for rust under the cargo windows on the inside.

Good luck, it looks like it would be worth resurrecting.

Here&#x27;s how mine looked at one point. I sold it for $1600 three years ago.

<title>[RWD] [200] What shall I do to my car? -posted by- CliveAlive</title>
<description>
It&#x27;s been a while since I saw a pic of your car and I don&#x27;t remember if you have it tinted.

If not, then perhaps a light tint. Not the black limo tint. I think that would be too much on your black car. But just a light tint to cut glare and accent the lines of the vehicle.

Makes the car much more comfortable. Couldn&#x27;t live without it here in Florida.

<title>[RWD] [200] 14&#x26;quot; tire suggestions -posted by- CliveAlive</title>
<description>I have 205x70Rx14 BFGoodrich Touring T/A&#x27;s from Costco on my 245.

They would NOT install them because thier book says 185&#x27;s and they refused to install anything else. So I bought them and went to my preferred tire place and had them put on.

It still worked out to be quite reasonable. The tires have been pretty good and I think they handle pretty well considering.

<title>[RWD] [200] IAC -- compatible years for 83? -posted by- CliveAlive</title>
<description>
The 83 244 needs a new IAC.

I just got back from the PnP and there&#x27;s nothing earlier than an 86.

Are there later years that would work? I don&#x27;t have the old one out yet to see the p/n. It&#x27;s bolted to the block unlike the later years I saw in the yard which are bolted to a bracket out from under the manifold and easier to get at.

If you want to drive down to Clearwater, Thompson Auto are trusted by a lot of discerning vehicle owners: Hot Rodders and classic car owners. I&#x27;ve had my Volvos done there for years. Other shops refer people there too.

<description>Congratulations. Very nice.

For some unknown reason I prefer the syling of the 83-85 240&#x27;s myself: even though those years are supposedly plagued with the bio-degradable harnesses. (I&#x27;ve been OK with mine so far).

I like the quad headlight set-up on them for sure.

Good luck with it.

<title>[RWD] [200] [1985] IPD &#x27;Overdrive Fix It Kit&#x27; -- Anyone used it? -posted by- CliveAlive</title>
<description>The overdrive on the 244 isn&#x27;t working and it&#x27;s not the switch or the relay.

I&#x27;m considering using the IPD kit because of the expense of a new solenoid and as I never have a need to lock out the O/D anyway; unlike the wagon which I have set up for towing.

So how hard an install is it really?

Any advice?  Thanks guys.
