<title>[AWD] [850] repair; new or rebuilt 850 blower motor? -posted by- ketchgould</title>
<description>Greetings:

I&#x27;ve got the squeaky blower motor on my 1996 850. I would like to get this fixed before MN Winter is back. I recall some posts about a new bearing working on existing motor, etc.

Would you suggest rebuilding mine, buying used on ebay, or getting a new one?

Also, how much trouble is it to install (time)?

Thanks

<title>[AWD] [850] Driver Door Extends too far -posted by- ketchgould</title>
<description>Greetings:

My driver side door seems to be extending farther than seems right, in fact it makes a metal crunch noise when it keeps opening beyond where it used to open.

Any idea why the door does not &#x22;stop&#x22; at a fixed point anymore?

Thanks

<title>[AWD] [850] Original Tbelt @120,000 - Are there warning signs of a break? -posted by- ketchgould</title>
<description>Greetings:

Just replaced my thermostat and feeling almost cavalier, looking to my next repair on my 96 850 which I&#x27;ve only owned for about 7 months....looking for ideas from the group as to what would be most important to tackle next.

1-I have a very persistent oil leak, which I believe is the rear seal. I don&#x27;t think this is a great DIY project for a car I need to dry everyday. However, I read so mu about cleaning the oil trap, would this be a good next project?

2-The timing belt is original, are there warning signs before it breaks? Would you change this out now?

Basically, what would you fix next if you sort of had the time, but not the money?

Thanks
Christian

<description>Greetings:

Icy here in Saint Paul all of a sudden...my rear defrost works but the exterior door mounted mirrors are not defrosting. Should they?

Was it an option or standard?

Thanks a lot.

<title>[AWD] [850] [1996] Colder cabin heater and engine temp stays below 50% on guage -posted by- ketchgould</title>
<description>Greetings:

My &#x27;96 850 (new to me, and I love it) seems like the cabin heater does not warm up as fast as I would expect. I&#x27;ve noticed also that the engine temp guage does not get above 30% or so whereas previous vehicles for me have alsways had the engine temp guage at 50% when the car is warmed up.

Should I drain coolant? IS this simple?

Any other ideas?

Thanks </description>

<title>[AWD] [850] instrument cluster acrylic rattling against plastic ledge fix? -posted by- ketchgould</title>
<description>I know this sounds pretty anal, but after switching from driving Saab&#x27;s the past 15 years which are full of squeaks - this 850 seems to have only one...The acrylic which covers the speedometer, etc rattles against the horizontal ledge in front of it. I&#x27;ve tried jamming items between the two but they fall in behind the steering wheel.

Any ideas?

Is there a simple way to remove the instrument cluster acrylic and line with foam or similar tape?

Thanks.

<title>[AWD] [850] A/C Quick connect tool use, between drier and evaporator -posted by- ketchgould</title>
<description>I&#x27;ve inserted the tool around the line and into the coupling as far as the tool can insert; at the same time I&#x27;m using a vice grip to try and wiggle the male end out. Does this seem right?

I&#x27;m not hearing a clicking noise - the drier end spins freely in the quick connect fitting.

<title>[AWD] [850] A/C Quick connect tool use, between drier and evaporator -posted by- ketchgould</title>
<description>Greetings:

I was curious if you might be able to help my figure out how to use the quick connect tool used on fuel and ac lines, namely between the drier and evaporator?

I&#x27;m trying to remove the drier.

Thanks,
Christian
