[AWD] [V70] [1998] Dual Or Single Muffler System On 98 V70AWDR? -posted by- VolvoV70AWDR

Thanks Guys,

I appreciate your opinion; the car is definitely unique because of its colour but as time passes I can see that it'll become a project car where I'll be replaces parts. I'd like to keep it original and know that adding the dual system will depart from that. Btw the CAD price with taxes comes to around 950.00. I'll ckeck out what Volvo charges for an OEM single and go from there.

[AWD] [V70] [1998] Dual Or Single Muffler System On 98 V70AWDR? -posted by- VolvoV70AWDR

I need a new muffler system on my 98 saffron V70AWDR. The original single exhaust is shot and is coming off. I've always wanted a dual muffler system on the car plus maybe a sweet sound to go with it. Are there modifications or replacement parts needed or suggested before a dual system goes on? Will it be worth the pricetag(700.00)? Will I notice any improvement in power? Or do I just put an OEM single back on it and forget about? The car is now 11 years old with 250km. It's in good shape and has the unique saffron colour.
Your thoughts/opinions would be greatly appreciated.

[AWD] [V70] HELP! HELP! 1998 V70 R AWD - Any problems switching from 16' to 17' rims? -posted by- VolvoV70AWDR

This is my second posting without one reply.I need help ASAP on this. If anyone knows or has switched rims from 16" to 17" on the above vehicle or similar V70 please let me know of any possible problems. I want to put 17" on the "R" but I've had people tell me the good and bad in doing it(i.e. tire rubbing on inside cowling and interference with the steering mechanisms to name a few-other people say that there's no problem).
I'd appreciate any helpful replies.

Thanks

[AWD] [V70] [1998] Can I Put 17' Rims on My '98 V70 AWDR? -posted by- VolvoV70AWDR

I'm the second owner of a 1998 V70 AWDR with stock 16" rims. I would like to replace them with 17" rims. I get conflicting info from dealerships stating I can and I can't. TireRack says I can and some people I've talked to say I can't because of the rim/tire combination rubbing inside the wheelwell or scraping against internal steering parts. I would appreciate thoughts/advice on replacing them before going ahead. I would be buying Volvo rims they recommend(as V70 only - no mention of an awd system). Questions: 1. Would I be creating future problems on the drive system down the road if I replaced them? 2. Any suggestions on the lowest/widest profile tire that would suit for some comfort without giving up sporty feel and grip.
3. Why wouldn't have Volvo put 17"s on this particular model as standard equipment or wher they an option?

I would appreciate your comments-thank you; ldodsworth@rogers.com
