<description>I think this is a great question, I personally know of three of my friends that put on aftermarket taillights only to have them burn up in the same manner...

<title>[RWD] [200] [1990] Turn indicator fuses blowing... and other electrical goodies. -posted by- ricefive</title>
<description>Hey Art,
Well you guys are right. The fuse number 5 looked perfect. I went ahead and switched it out and then the turn indicators worked. However, in less than 10 minutes the new fuse popped. The hazards work and the turn indicators don&#x27;t. I put in a 16 amp fuse for now and it all works fine.

I also have my bulb out indicator doing weird stuff. It comes on if my headlights are on and I apply the brakes or it blinks in time with the turn signals and brakes applied simultaneously. Definitely no good. I also have no reverse lights. I guess it is time for hand signals and a megaphone. Let me know what your giant brain comes up with... As always, I really appreciate your help.

<title>[RWD] [200] [1990] Turn Signal question -posted by- ricefive</title>
<description>Hey Art,

I will chck fuse 5. The IPD service tech told me that some of the older models had them on the steering column. I have never seen that either. I have riden in a 1977, 79, 81, 83 and of course my 1990 240 and they have all been in the center console...

<description>Hey Art,
I checked 13. It was fine. What does that have to do with the turn signals? I was just wandering. Also Do you mean the Hazard switch in my center console? I don&#x27;t have the old style on the column. Once again I really appreciate your help...

<title>[RWD] [200] [1990] Turn Signal question -posted by- ricefive</title>
<description>Good morning,
My turn signals are not working nor is the ticking of the relay. However my Hazards work fine. Is it just the relay and if so where is it? I am at my office and I don&#x27;t have my manuals with me... I would like to inspect the relay and maybe just go and pick up another on the way home... Thanks

<title>[RWD] [200] [1990] Still no start -posted by- ricefive</title>
<description>No 561, I switched that out a while ago. I will make a jumper when I get off work. So does that suggest that it is not the relay or a bad connection at the fuse box inside because the car wouldn&#x27;t run if it started and the the relay acted up or if the fuses made a bad connection once running, right?
 I appreciate your help.

<title>[RWD] [200] [1990] Next diagnosis level- Calling Volvo Brains -posted by- ricefive</title>
<description>Hey Tony,
I was wondering, I have messed with fuse 4 and 6 as well as the 25 amp fuse and then for some reason it starts. It could just be coincidental. I can&#x27;t seem to hear the BUZZ of the pump on position two but then sometimes it just fires up great. It runs like a top once it is going. It has a perfect idle once started. If it were a fuel pump relay or bad connection, wouldn&#x27;t the car run poorly or not at all, all of a sudden? What can make it not start but run so good after it does? Can it be the crank position sensor, IAC, or FPR not letting it start but then run great if it does start? I give up.

P.S. FYI- I have a M-47 transmission... if that makes any kind of difference.

<description>My car was having a hard time starting the last two or three times and now it won&#x27;t start at all. I turns over strong etc. The speedo is jumping when I try and start it now. The prior few times once it started and was warm it ran perfect and started right up when warm. What does that suggest?

<description>Thank you Tony. I will look back at my records about the Fuel Pressure Regulator and see when it was replaced. <description>My car hasn&#x27;t been driven much in the last couple of years. I have noticed a few problems, like the A/C fan comes on after a delay and other weird electrical things. Now it has trouble starting after it sits. After it is warm it runs and starts fine. There are posts on the subject but I am unsure of what set up my 1990 has... I appreciate your suggestions.

<title>[RWD] [200] [1990] Crazy Brake Light -posted by- ricefive</title>
<description>Hello- My 1990 240 sedan&#x27;s tailight is acting strange. The right side brakelight does this:

1. Is out when headlights are off and dash light comes on when brake is applied.
2. When my headlights are on, the right side brake light is lit up (as it should when pushing the brakes) even without touching the brake pedal- The bulb out dash light stays on all the time when the headlights are on.

All of the other lights are functioning normally. I have replaced the bulb as well. Is it something I can fix or is it a bad circuit?

<title>[RWD] [200] [1990] IPD is losing its appeal... fast. -posted by- ricefive</title>
<description>Lee- Here is the quote from there site...

&#x22;Bilstein Heavy Duty

The choice for the truly discriminating driver, Bilstein HDs offer handling so superior, they&#x27;re capable of damping wheel movement as small as 2mm. And that&#x27;s smooth.&#x22;

I did not say that they tried to sell it as the &#x22;Smoothest&#x22;. When it stated &#x22;And that&#x27;s smooth&#x22;, I took it to mean unharsh. I installed these with the TME lowering springs and the sway bars. It was unbearable. I ditched the springs after a month. I love the sways but the shocks are too much for me. It has made everything rattle in my car, that&#x27;s really what is bothering me more than anything.

<title>[RWD] [200] [1990] IPD is losing its appeal... fast. -posted by- ricefive</title>
<description>I have always bought things from IPD because of their customer service. In fact I have spent ALOT of money with them since 1990. I buy from them even though they are not the cheapest by any stretch. Over the past 5-7 years I have noticed more attitude from the young guys on the telephone and more reluctancy to help when you would call when installing THEIR product. I am still stuck with the extremly expensive Bilstien HD&#x27;s that ride like a wheelbarrow because they advertised them as the most comfortable shock saying &#x22;now that&#x27;s smooth&#x22;. Only now have they added a disclaimer that the ride can be harsh. They will not even send you a cataloge any more unless you buy something that current year. Anyway...

Tonight I went poking around their site and they are updating it. I looked at the classifieds and they were gone. They posted this arrogant statement...

&#x22;It&#x27;s amazing. We&#x27;ve had FREE classifieds for years and very rarely got compliments. Now that they are temporarily missing, we&#x27;re getting lots of complaints. Pretty interesting for a service that didn&#x27;t cost anything and didn&#x27;t make us any money.&#x22;

http://www.ipdusa.com/pg-7/

I don&#x27;t know about you but other than the sway bars, who wants to pay their exorbitant prices for smarta*s comments like this? Can you say &#x22;FCPGroton&#x22;?
