Hydraulic clutch issue

It would be best to find the bore of the original GM master and slave cylinder, and then compare to the bore of the Volvo master. It's just hydraulics, and you'll have to move a certain volume of fluid to achieve clutch release. Then determine if the pedal effort is too high, and change lever geometry possibly.
The smaller the bore of the master the easier the pedal effort, but the shorter the travel of the slave cylinder, and vice versa.
