replacing aftermarket radio back to stock in 240

The stock 240 radios that I know about all use an amplifier to power the rear speakers. The amp comes on with the power antenna power lead and has a DIN jack direct on the back of the radio for its audio input. The fader control on the radio works in this set-up.

My CR-4123 has 5 pre-sets for AM and 5 for FM, too few for me. I have plans to install a stereo-CD unit.

How hard your job could be can depend on what wiring/connectors are still available in the car. I don't know if the 9-pin connector, with which aI am familiar, is used after the model years after 1988.

You might get more answers if you ask on the RWD forum.

Good Luck,

Bob
