My 83 240 (chrysler ignition) produces no spark and jumping the 2 test points at the distributor harness connector also fails to produce a spark. Voltage and continuity checks at the ignition control unit connector, power at the distributor harness connector and battery voltage at #15 connector at the coil are all good. One question: am i also supposed to have close to battery voltage in the connector for the #1 point on the coil? (there i have 11.5 volts, 12.5 volts at the #15 connector, both tested while disconnected from the coil) If connector to #1 at the coil is not supposed to have voltage do i likely have an insulation problem somewhere in the harness?
any ideas?
