My volvo 240 wagon started squeeling when I turned on the fan right after starting the car. Once the car warmed up it would not make the sound as long as I didnt turn on the fan and waited for a litle while.
Recently the squeeling is getting worse even when the fan is off. a couple of days ago the squeeling lasted much longer and would go away once i reached a higher rpm.
the drive belts have some cracks in the inner sides and I am going to change them but does any one know if this is typical of something else like water pump or another typical problem?
How can I check if the watre pump is bad?
