S40 timing belt has jumped pulley

Hi all, this is my first post.

My 98' s40 T4 was idling at the lights today, when suddenly it made this clattering sound and stopped.

I removed the timing cover and the timing belt was half off the pulley.

(The car had been sitting in the garage for 18mths prior to having an oil change, service and a drive to work.)

I got it towed to the V dealer in Western Sydney, but it's Sunday here and I'll have to wait till tomorrow to talk to the Volvo guys.

Any suggestion as to what the news might be? I'm thinking valve damage.

Anyone had this happen?

Would you have a rough idea of costs involved, just roughly?

(Wringing hands and watching screen for replies)

Thanks,

Danny.
