can a 240 safely carry 900lbs for 3000 miles?

Make sure the tires and shocks are good as others have mentioned. However, for 3 hundred bucks I'm not sure it's worth all the trouble. Just rent a u-haul truck and drive it across the country. You'll save a lot of wear and tear. Trust me I did the same move from Texas to NYC and it was not fun. The Volvo was not too pleased either.
