Coolant drain petcock 200 1989

Replaced radiator yesterday. Used brass petcock on side of block near oil filter. Worked well. Noticed that it takes a couple of turns before the valve actually opens and let's fluid out. Used a clear 3/8" ID hose. Good fit. Also, removed lower rad hose (after petcock). Yes, there was some spillage but it actually was not much. Then when removing radiator, more spillage from lower hose connection point -- perhaps even a bit more then when just removing hose. Probably good after removing lower hose and draining to place a rag into the radiator before lifting/tilting out of the car.
