Purpose of painting/parts to get? 200 1993

IMO-The painting of the the parts is more an appearance thing than for protection. I've always liked the "Black" pipes & mufflers of the Italian-made Ansa exhaust systems. Since a small portion of the exh. system is visible on my 245, I figured I'd try the hi-temp paint on it to see how it would look. It really wasn't too difficult. Once I removed all of the part# stickers & labels from the pipes & muffler, I cleaned all of the parts with 3M adhesive remover. It also did a great job of removing any residual oils often left behind by the manufacturing process. After they were clean, I found that the paint stuck to them pretty well. Most "Hi-Temp" paints don't really cure until heat is applied to them. I contemplated actually baking the painted parts in an oven, but decided to let them bake themselves after they were installed on the car.

As for the Starla turbo exh. parts....
Yes, that is the correct FCP page. The 3 "major" pieces you'll need are:
831-939 - axle pipe
235-939 - rear muffler
332-939 - tailpipe
The only other pipe required is an intermediate pipe to adapt the 2" pipe @ the cat. conv. to the 2 1/4" turbo axle pipe. Almost any capable muffler shop can make this for you. You can order all of the clamps & hangers from FCP, but most muffler shops can provide those for you as well.
