rear end / brakes 444-544

Thanks to all who gave me excellent advice on previous posts.

New question -

I am about to reassemble the rear brakes on my 1967 Duett. I've had the backing plate/dust shields powder coated, I'm replacing the outer bearing seals, and using all new brake hardware.

I can't remember exactly in what order things get re-assembled. Specifically, the backing plate, the metal part holding the seal, and the metal shim plate. There are 2 gaskets per side as well. The diagrams in the Volvo parts catalogue/shop manual are not completely clear; in fact they seem to be contradictory. One page shows the rear end (without brake backing plate) and another page shows the brake assembly (without the rear end). I know all this stuff is held together with the same four bolts.

Also, now that the outer wheel bearing is exposed, how do I best 'lubricate/grease' it before putting the brake assembly back on? I am NOT interested in removing/replacing the rear bearings.

Many thanks for your time and wisdom.
