i want to keep the original engine 140-160 1973

I think you have to keep in mind to maxims of performance. It is about "power to weight" and there is "No replacement for displacement". Since the weight of the Volvo and the Camaro are about equal, and disregarding the the 60 degree V-6 Camaros, I cannot see being a "contender" in that game with less than $5,000.00 in modifications. Be thankful for the larger engine compartment and drop in some horsepower.
